El 12 de enero los trabajadores de la cooperativa URUVEN lograron, después de catorce años de esfuerzos, recuperar su trabajo a través de la adquisición de un nuevo local que permitirá rehabilitar la producción de lo que fuera la curtiembre Midobers. Este logro se concretó a partir de un acuerdo establecido entre los gobiernos de Uruguay y Venezuela.
De este proceso participa el Programa Incubadora Universitaria - Emprendimientos Económicos Asociativos Populares, a través del asesoramiento técnico en la construcción de una estrategia productiva y un proyecto colectivo.

La cooperativa URUVEN, no es un emprendimiento “nuevo” sino que se trata de una curtiembre llamada Midobers[1] instalada a mitad del siglo pasado, en un barrio industrial (Nuevo París) en un contexto nacional donde la apuesta era sobre un modelo de desarrollo basado en la sustitución de importaciones donde se comienzan a estructurar relaciones sociales a la interna del emprendimiento, historias de luchas sindicales-patronales, tensiones nacionales que también explican la situación del emprendimiento.
Tanto la acción de los actores y sujetos directamente involucrados como los cambios nacionales e internacionales, llevan a un decaimiento sostenido del emprendimiento productivo que deriva en la medida de “ocupación productiva” por parte de los trabajadores en 1997.
Durante este período los trabajadores no son capaces de diseñar una reconstrucción productiva y un crecimiento autónomo y sostenido, sino que podríamos decir que viven bajo una “estrategia de sobrevivencia”, sin estrategias productivas de largo plazo, un día a día que se prolonga durante más de una década.
Diez años después, a través del otorgamiento de un crédito por parte del gobierno de Venezuela resurge la esperanza y es en este marco que se plantea el proyecto de intervención a través de la Incubadora Universitaria, identificando que en el estado presente del proyecto colectivo el pasado y el futuro se intersectan profundamente.
Así, surge la necesidad de comprender las raíces del proyecto, con su naturaleza doble entre historias de sumisión/resistencia, con el fin de comprender el presente y la pretensión de cambiar el futuro.
En este sentido se hace pertinente la captura de la memoria. Nos referimos no a una memoria estática, sino una memoria que Eva Giberti definió como memoria activa. Se trata de enseñar y conocer lo que pasó, no para memorizar fechas y acontecimientos “muertos” sino comprender los procesos y causas que los explican. Se trata de generar conexiones y condiciones para que frente a ciertos hechos se diga “nunca más” y por lo tanto se construya un presente/ futuro basado en la transformación del pasado, es decir sobre una “historia viva”.
De esta manera nos proponemos canalizar un acercamiento profundo a los procesos duraderos de constitución de estructuras, sean estas mentales, culturales, sociopolíticas o económicas que moldean una forma de accionar particular en la actualidad. Por lo que rearmar una historia colectiva significa también devolver la palabra a personas que durante catorce años han vivido “puertas adentro”.
Se trata de capturar los procesos de precarización provocados por el desempleo desde una perspectiva que no pierda de vista lo macro y los procesos económico-políticos determinantes de la exclusión.
En este sentido es necesario enfatizar el conocer los propios errores no para culpabilizar a los individuos sino para “abrir ventanas” al futuro, es decir generar la crítica propositiva.
De esta manera, “la memoria apunta siempre al mañana y esa paradoja es la que permite que en ese mañana no se repitan las pesadillas, y que las alegrías, que también las hay en el inventario de la memoria colectiva, sean nuevas”.
“Quienes arriba fueron poder nos heredaron un montón de pedazos rotos: muertes aquí y allá, impunidades y cinismos, ausencias, rostros e historias emborronadas, desesperanzas. Y ese montón de escombros es el que nos ofrecen como tarjeta de identidad, de modo que decir “soy” y “somos” sea una vergüenza.
Pero hubo quienes fueron y son abajo. Ellos y ellas nos heredaron no un mundo nuevo, completo y acabado, pero sí algunas claves y pistas para unir esos fragmentos dispersos y, al armar el rompecabezas del ayer, abrirle una rendija al muro, dibujar una ventana y construir una puerta.
Porque es bien sabido que las puertas fueron antes ventanas, y antes fueron rendijas, y antes fueron y son memoria. Tal vez por eso temen los de arriba, porque quien tiene memoria en realidad tiene en su futuro una puerta”[2].
Puerta y futuro abierto de par en par para concretar los sueños y las luchas de todos estos años de resistencia. El 12 de enero del 2010 no es un día más para URUVEN, es el día en que comienza a concretarse la digna rebeldía de tantas y tantos compañeros con quienes compartimos el camino.
